Organizers of New York City’s iconic Governors Ball Music Festival announced its 2026 lineup today, breaking new ground by featuring two K-pop acts as headliners: global boy group Stray Kids and BLACKPINK’s Jennie. The festival will return to its long-time home at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens from June 5 to 7, marking a milestone for both the event and the global expansion of K-pop.
Stray Kids will make history as the first K-pop group ever to headline Governors Ball, taking the stage on Saturday, June 6, alongside Colombian-American singer Kali Uchis. The eight-member group, known for their self-produced discography and high-energy performances, has amassed a dedicated worldwide fanbase, with multiple number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and sold-out tours across North America, Europe, and Asia. Their inclusion as a headliner underscores the genre’s growing mainstream influence in the U.S. market.
Jennie, meanwhile, will become the first K-pop solo artist to top the festival’s bill, closing out the event on Sunday, June 7, alongside Grammy-nominated rapper A$AP Rocky. As a member of BLACKPINK, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, Jennie has already established herself as a global fashion and music icon. Her solo work, including hits like Solo and You & Me, has garnered hundreds of millions of streams, and her live performances are renowned for their charisma and stage presence.
Friday’s opening night will be led by New Zealand indie-pop star Lorde and rapper Baby Keem, a 2022 Grammy winner known for his collaborations with Kendrick Lamar. The full lineup spans genres, including electronic music collective Major Lazer, R&B project Blood Orange, and indie rock favorite Japanese Breakfast, ensuring a diverse experience for attendees.
Now in its 14th year, Governors Ball has grown from a one-day event to one of the most anticipated music festivals on the East Coast, drawing crowds of 100,000 to 150,000 annually. Festival organizers noted that the 2026 lineup was curated to reflect evolving musical tastes while honoring the event’s roots in hip-hop and alternative music.
Tickets will go on presale starting January 8 at 10 a.m. ET via the official festival website, govball.com. General admission and VIP packages will be available, with organizers advising fans to purchase early due to expected high demand.
